i think the ring may project pictures into her mind, or maybe the flow of information is too quick therefore hurting the mind.
or could be she is going through a evolving phase (she is a "hatchling" what they said in start)

Am I the only one that looks at this whole thing as an enchanted (or cursed depending on perspective) burial ground for her race.
