So the big problem with fights in webcomics is you only get 2-3 pages a week. It kinda kills the urgency of the fight. So about 5 minuets after Sev was introduced I hated her hair, my best friend/fellow artist told me "just change it", to which I said "Sev wouldn't just change her hair, she wears it that way for a reason!" so he replied "well, you're fucked." But now we've reached a point in the comic where I can change her hair organically (I guess that's the word). Of course I probably could have done this earlier, but this just seemed like the best place. Anyway, TWC image is Sarela or Return of Fire Girl the Hot!

I also prefer her hair down, it's a "hot" look for her :)

Nevertheless, Sarela has now insulted Sevi's age AND ruined her hairdo - Sarela's life expectancy is decreasing rapidly - she had better quit while she's behind.

Wait, when did Sare insult Sev's age? O_o

5 pages ago - page51, right before the fight started

I quite like her hair this way, actually. It looks nice on her, makes her look a lot better than she did before.

So you're definitely not alone in liking the change to it. :)

Her hair looks better like this!

I would think you could call it "Fire mage in her element" Also I Do think Sevs hair down is better. But that is how I think most women look better, so just my view.

Oh boy this fight looks likes its going to devolve into a typical cat fight. Let the slapping, hair pulling and clothes ripping begin... :)
Guesticus Tuesday, the 16th of July at 10:03 AM, 2013 edit delete reply
Totally called it! Knew using fire against even a half-Teori would not work out as Sare thought it would :P

Agree with others: her hair down looks better (specially the slightly 'frizzled' ends)

See, the problem is that someone who's immune to fire shouldn't have flinched in response to a fire spell.

EFlint
Fire and magic fire are slightly different, you never know how the magic will affect you till you take a big load in the face.

...should probably reword that...
Ogre Tuesday, the 16th of July at 7:32 PM, 2013 edit delete reply
Why? Sounds exactly like how she'd put it.
Guesticus Wednesday, the 17th of July at 10:00 AM, 2013 edit delete reply
Just because you are immune, doesn't stop you from flinching

Unless you happen to be a green witch, you too would flinch instinctively if someone tossed a bucket of water at your head
Ogre Wednesday, the 17th of July at 8:10 PM, 2013 edit delete reply
Sure, if I was surprised or they actually threw the bucket at me. If I was standing there and they took a shot at me with a squirt while I could see them moving, I'd be way more likely to ignore it, and I don't have the combat experience the character in question is supposed to have, so she ought to be more likely to do something like jam her halberd hard into her opponent's throat. The attack of opportunity might be something of a scrappy mechanic as far as translating between a turn based game and live combat goes, but that's the kind of situation where the person holding the weapon *should* have gotten a free shot in.

Just because she's a fire mage, doesn't mean that's the only magic she knows - if you are a trained warrior in a world where your enemies use magic, your safest instinct is to flinch any time a mage starts spraying some bright energy in your direction, rather than wait and take the chance that it's a type you might be immune or resistant to.

Well, it's like EFlint said: fire and magic fire is different. In lore, there's magic flames that cannot be put out by water or smothering, other magic flames that can burn solid stone or melt metals. Sevikira doesn't know exactly how powerful this opponent is with her flames. The block could have been to brace herself for the worst expectation while allowing her to get a feel for her power and the bravado being shown now is a "heh, okay, this is nothing after all. I'll mop the floor with you if that's your worst."

Sev's hair does look kind of hot this way, but I'm sure she's gonna want to do something with it soon as she gets a chance, even if it's not a return to her original hairdo.

On a related note I'm a little surprised her outfit escaped unscathed. While the burning of the hot outfit would have been a shame I mourn the lost "Oops! Suddenly naked!" moment. ^,^

Personally I preferred her hair as it was, guess I'm in the minority on that one tho.

About damned time someone took her hair down. It looked ridiculous all clowned up like she had it up till now.
